Privacy Practice
The Licensing Executive Society - Australia and New Zealand Inc. (LESANZ) is
committed to good privacy practice. While LESANZ does not fall within the scope
of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), in formulating its approach to privacy LESANZ
has taken into account the National Privacy Principles set out in that Act and
other laws on privacy.
Who are we?
LESANZ is a chapter of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI).
LESI is an international, non-profit organisation. Members of LESANZ are also
members of LESI.
What personal information do we collect?
If you are a member of LESANZ, we may collect, hold and use your personal information.
This information includes name, address, organisation details, information relating
to professional experience and some financial details. We collect, hold and
use your personal information in order to provide and market LESANZís services
to you and fulfil administrative functions associated with those services.
This includes, but is not limited to: ï providing you with membership services,
such as distribution of newsletters and information about meetings, events and
workshops, conferences and courses; ï providing you with access to our website,
including access to the Meeting Directory and other services; ï processing membership
renewals and other transactions; and ï other administrative functions associated
with membership services. If you are not a member of LESANZ and request information
or services from LESANZ, we may collect, hold and use your personal information
for the purpose of providing the information or services to you. The Editor
of our Newsletter may collect personal information in the course of gathering
materials for inclusion in the Newsletter. This is generally limited to name,
organisation contact details and email address.
Do we collect information from our website?
LESANZ does not collect any personal information about you from your use of
this website except if you are a member and have specifically provided that
information when updating or amending your membership details online. When you
visit our website, or download information from it, an automatic record of your
visit is made which includes: your internet address, the date and time of your
visit to the website, the pages you accessed and documents downloaded and the
type of browser you are using.
This information is only used for statistical purposes. We make limited use
of cookies on our website. We only use cookies to supply content to the website,
not to store any of your personal information. A cookie is a small message given
to your web browser by our web server. The browser stores the message in a text
file, and the message is then sent back to the server each time the browser
requests a page from the server. When cookies are used on this site, they are
used to store information relating to your visit such as a unique identifier,
or a value to indicate whether you have seen a web page. They are used to distinguish
your Internet Browser from the thousands of other browsers. This site will not
store personal information such as email address or other details in a cookie.

Who do we share information with?
We may disclose your personal information to service providers, contractors
and strategic partners from time to time to help us to provide and market our
services to you eg. our Secretariat. As LESANZ is a chapter of LESI, members
of LESANZ are also members of LESI. We may disclose your personal information
to LESI in order for LESI to provide and market LESIís services to you. We may
also disclose your personal information to other chapters of LESI located outside
Australia from time to time for the purpose of providing LESANZ ís services
to you. LESANZ provides members with access to a Membership Directory which
includes membersí personal information and is provided for the purpose of networking
and cross referral. Members access the directory on the website by logging into
the membersí only section using a unique log in and password.
The Membership Directory is in two parts: a national Membership Directory which
only LESANZ members have access to and a world-wide Membership Directory which
LESI members have access to. We will not include your personal information in
either part of the Membership Directory unless you agree to us disclosing your
personal information to other LESANZ and LESI members in this way. We encourage
you to take advantage of this opportunity to market your organisationís services
and expertise to other members.
How is personal information protected?
We use a variety of physical and electronic security measures including firewalls
and secure databases to keep personal information secure from misuse, loss or
unauthorised use or disclosure. The Internet is not, however, a secure environment.
If you send us information, including your email address, it is sent at your
own risk.
Corrections?
Members have access to their details on the website and may update and amend
their personal information at any time.
