The UK finally left the European Union on 31 January 2020 and is now in the so-called transition period in which the country is effectively remains in the EU for most intents and purposes.

What happens to European IP rights, such as trade marks, designs, and patents?

Dr Rob Harrison

Dr. Robert Harrison was born in the UK of Australian parentage. He studied Physics at Oxford and worked for the European Patent Office before qualifying as a European and German Patent and Trademark Attorney with IBM.

He was European IP counsel for W.l.Gore and Associates for a number of years and is now joint managing partner of the 24IP Law Group in Munich, Berlin, Paris and London. 

Rob recently acquired German nationality to enable him to continue practising as an attorney with the European Union’s IP Office.
